Nexus — Terms of Service
Last updated: 22 July 2026
Effective date: 22 July 2026
Version: 1.0
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Nexus messenger at
https://nexus-global.space and its applications ("Nexus", "the Service").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you
do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is operated by [CONTROLLER FULL NAME] ("we", "us"), a private
individual operator. Contact: [CONTROLLER CONTACT EMAIL].
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Nexus. If the law of your
country sets a higher minimum age of digital consent, that higher age
applies. When you register you must confirm that you meet this requirement.
- You must not be barred from using the Service under any applicable law.
2. Your account
- You register using an e-mail address, a phone number, or a Google account.
Nexus does not use passwords; you sign in with one-time codes or Google
Sign-In.
- You are responsible for keeping access to your registration identifier (your
e-mail, phone, or Google account) secure.
- You are responsible for all activity that takes place through your account.
- One person may not use another person's account without permission, and you
must not impersonate others.
3. What Nexus provides
Nexus is a messaging service that lets you, subject to these Terms:
- Send and receive text messages, files, images and voice messages.
- Make peer-to-peer voice/video calls (WebRTC).
- Create and participate in groups and channels.
- Use an optional in-app virtual currency ("Nexors") and send gifts.
- Contact support and submit reports about content or behaviour.
Features may change, be added, or be removed over time.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Nexus to:
- Post or share illegal content, including child sexual abuse material,
terrorist content, or content that incites violence or hatred.
- Harass, threaten, bully, or stalk others.
- Send spam, run scams, or engage in fraud or phishing.
- Distribute malware or attempt to breach the security of the Service.
- Infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights of others.
- Impersonate any person or entity.
- Circumvent moderation, bans, or rate limits.
Full behavioural rules are set out in the Community Guidelines, which form
part of these Terms.
5. Content and licence
- You own your content. You keep all rights to the messages, files and
media you create and share.
- To operate the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to
host, store, transmit, and display your content solely for the purpose of
providing the Service to you and the people you communicate with. This
licence ends when your content is deleted, except for copies retained for a
limited period as described in the Privacy Policy and Data Retention Policy.
- We do not sell your content and do not use it for third-party
advertising.
6. Moderation, suspension and bans
- We may review reported content and take action, including removing content,
warning, muting, temporarily banning, or permanently banning accounts, and
blocking groups or channels that violate these Terms or the Community
Guidelines.
- Moderation decisions involve human review. Where an account, group or
channel is blocked, the owner is notified and may appeal within 30 days
through the in-app moderation bot.
- Repeated or serious violations may lead to escalating penalties, up to
permanent removal.
- See the Moderation and Complaints Policy for the full process.
7. In-app virtual currency (Nexors)
- Nexors and gifts are internal virtual items with no monetary value
outside the Service. They are not legal tender, not redeemable for cash, and
not a payment instrument.
- Nexus does not currently process real-money payments through external
payment providers. If real-money purchases are introduced in the future,
these Terms and the Privacy Policy will be updated and applicable consumer and
payment law will apply.
- We may adjust, suspend, or reset the Nexors system where necessary for
security or operational reasons.
8. Service availability and "as is" nature
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee
that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every threat.
- Nexus is encrypted at rest but is not end-to-end encrypted. Do not use
Nexus to transmit information that would cause serious harm if accessed by us
or by an attacker who compromised the server.
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential
damages, or for loss of data or profits arising from your use of the Service.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded
under applicable law, including mandatory consumer-protection rights of EU
consumers and liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence,
fraud, or gross negligence.
10. Termination
- You may stop using Nexus and delete your account at any time from within
the app.
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms,
the Community Guidelines, or applicable law.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. content
licence for retained copies, limitation of liability) survive.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for
material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after changes take
effect means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Governing law and consumer rights
- These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's place of
establishment, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection law
of the country in which you, as an EU consumer, reside.
- As an EU consumer, you may also bring proceedings in your country of
residence, and you may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
